Damer A started the season with a massive 3-0(25-13, 25-21, 25-13) win at home vs. Engelholm B.
In straight sets our girls showed a lot of the things we hope to see from them all season long – aggressive serving, opportunistic offense with lots of combinations, and disciplined defense.
Only in the 2nd set were Engelholm able to keep the score close throughout the set, but mainly due to our own lacking ability to terminate great opportunities in offense.
Head coach Michael Jensen had the following comments after the game; ”I am very happy with how we played today. It was bound to be a nervous game since it is the first of the season, but the girls came out firing on all engines… Engelholm has a young team with plenty of talent, but I think we showed our advantage in experience and physical abilities throughout the match, and we felt in control all the way.”
MVP of the game was Maja Modigh who played her comeback game after a break from volleyball, and delivered with great passing, solid defense and scored 11 points for the team.
