Welcome to Lund’s Volleyball Club – season 2019-20!
Lunds VK (Lund’s Volleyball Club) established in 2009, is a sports club with the ambition to offer volleyball to all ages and all levels of skill. Lunds VK is a club with around 650 members and is the largest volleyball club in Sweden. We offer the opportunity for people to get engaged with volleyball in a variety of ways – from competitive, elite teams contending at the regional and national levels to recreational volleyball and its members range from children and youth to seniors and veterans. Members of the club, especially in the recreational teams, come from many different countries around the world and our ambition is that volleyball is a way to build friendships and helping to integrate in Lund.
Currently we are running three men’s teams (Herrar A+B+C) and two women’s teams (Damer A+B) at the competitive level. For our youth members we play at the U16/18 (boys and girls teams) and level 4-7, co-ed. For the youngest aspiring volleyball kids we also offer Kidsvolley, a co-ed, modified version of volleyball designed for kids aged 6 to 8. For kids age 3-5 we offer a fun activity called Volleybompa once a week.
Where we play
Most of our practices and matches take place in Fäladshallen (map). Some youth practices are held in other gyms. The women’s and men’s Elite teams (A-teams) play their matches in Idrottshallen (map).
Recreational volleyball in Lund
The 4 recreational teams in general are all a combination of Swedish and international players. The teams are divided in 4 levels with players for the age 16 and up. Beginners, training, advanced and well advanced. For all the recreational teams the first focus is fun, where we can offer 3 hours of training a week divided in 2 evenings. All teams are mixed teams.
Recreational Team 1 (to team page)
This is the well advanced team. Although training as a mixed team the players compete both as mixed and separate men and women teams in different recreational leagues, Lunds VK series Mix and Free and LUGI series. The team(s) play with the 5-1 system. As the name suggest this is a team that has a goal to challenge other teams, also those from the senior series.
Recreational Team 2 (to team page)
This is an advanced team with 4-2 play system. As the name suggest, all training is focused on building match systems. The team has several mixed teams in recreational leagues, Lunds VK series Mix and Free and LUGI series.
Recreational Team 3 (to team page)
The level of play is basic to advanced. The main focus of this group is to train for exercise. Some members are playing in the Lunds VK series Mix and Free and LUGI series.
Recreational Team 4 (to team page)
For those that like to play a sport but never played volleyball before, the beginners’ team can offer a way to be active and to learn the basic skills of the volleyball game. Ones getting better skills, players can move up to the more experienced Trainings or Match Teams.
We are looking for trainers for the recreational teams. Please contact email@example.com when you like to keep in trainings.
The Lunds VK Motionsserien (Recreational Leagues)
For you, that besides training would like to play some games, Lunds VK has its own recreational leagues called Mixed Serie and Free Serie. Both are played on the Thursday evening after the recreational teams training. About half of the recreational members play in these series giving an opportunity to play friendly games with other recreational team from in and around Lund. Some of our members are joined in (Lunds VK) teams that play in the Lugi Series on Tuesday as well. Lugi Series is also a recreational series but is organization wise not connected with Lunds VK.
The Lunds VK series is divided in to two series Thursday 21.00 – 22.00 mixed teams (basically equal amount of girls and guys per team) and 22.00 – 23.00 free series with free combination of players.
All practice and Mixed Series have a 2.35m net height. Free series is 2.43m
