TOP MIDDLEBLOCKER FROM 2015/2016 IS STAYING PUT
Anna Westerlund who lead our team in blocking last season has just signed an extension with the club.
We are super thrilled to announce that Anna will join us for our first year in the Elite, as we make the effort to establish ourselves as an elite team. Anna has from the day she joined our club, always been a leader on the court. She has scored a ton of points with quick hitting, big blocking and very tough serving. We hope she will do the same this coming season. In practice Anna contributes with humor off the court and a competitive mindset on the court, and she has been a main force in us making it to the elite.
Anna answered a few questions after she signed:
– You have just signed a new deal with Lunds VK. What made you commit to another season with the club?
“I really enjoyed playing last season and Lunds VK is a great club. It will be fun and challenging to play elit again. The girls on the team is a big part of why I want to stay in Lund, they make every practice fun.”
– What are your expectations for the team this coming season?
“I expect everyone on the team to be committed and ready to work hard at every practice. Of course we have to challenge each other on practice to be ready to compete in games. As newcomers in the elit series we will have no pressure on us in games and should consider every point, set and game we win an accomplishment. Hopefully it will lead to greatness.”
– Do you have a personal goal that you want to achieve this year in Lund?
“My goal every year is to improve as a player in every aspect. It would be nice though to have a year without injuries so I will work a lot on staying healthy and strong.”
We welcome Anna who will play more on the rightside this season – a position she has played in before at the top level, so we are excited to see her contribution.
